Next Steps in Our Conversations About Racial Justice and Reconciliation
On Monday we held a City Church Forum entitled “In Richmond as it is in Heaven.” Erik ended our time together by reminding us that sanctification is as much corporate as it is individual. This is especially true for the pursuit of justice. In light of that, I want you to invite you to join us in a few next steps.
The Value of the Shorter Catechism for Our Formation
Catechism. The very name sounds like it belongs in a catacomb with lifeless, dusty bones of medieval saints. Far from being archaic relics—though they were written centuries ago—the Reformed catechisms and confessions are treasures for us today.
Faith & Work Roundtable: When Work Doesn't Go Our Way
We are meeting tomorrow, April 16th, at 7:30 via Zoom for our latest Faith and Work Roundtable. Take a peek at the agenda!

If you weren’t able to take part in our Good Friday service, we’ve made a video of the service—and the text of Harrison’s homily—available here.
Why Home Worship?
When it became obvious to us that the coronavirus outbreak was going to mean lots of change, one of the first decisions we had to make was about corporate worship. How Do I Honor a Father I Don’t Know?
I’m adopted and always thought my biological father was a non-issue. Or maybe even just a non-entity. For all I know, a stork put me in my biological mother’s womb. But like those other non-entities—ghosts—he haunts me.
Doubt: Where to Start, Where to Go
My relationship with God has been stuck in the “it’s complicated” status for quite a while now. Sometimes He and I are not on speaking terms; sometimes we really have it out. One day I’m wrestling, another day I’m apathetic. As is common with troubled relationships, I can’t seem to track down when it started, or even why.
Spiritual Formation and Story
When my family gets together we tell stories. They are often the same stories, but we continue to tell them because they are our stories. They tell us who we are (for better or worse) and how we act (sometimes better, often worse).
Partnership: September at City Church
This month, we will spend time during each service highlighting the various ways that we can partner with what God is doing in our church and in our city.
