On May 6th City Church put on a workshop entitled The Talk: Teaching Your Children About God’s Design for Sex. And this is the truth we discussed: Your child will learn about sex. The only question is: “How?”

All too often, ministry in the Church—especially to children—can focus almost exclusively on the transfer of information. But while teaching children doctrine is essential, it must always be rooted in the goal of increasing our love for God and neighbor. 

When a child who has been welcomed into the church through baptism comes to a place where they know they are sinners loved by God through Jesus, the invitation to them to participate in the Lord’s Supper is extended with joy!

Slowing down is not popular in our culture, nor is it typically encouraged...and our children feel the pressure to perform and produce, as well. But for the past several months we have been encouraging our older elementary and middle school students to slow down and dwell on God’s promises in Scripture.

"He's coming! It's time!"

Here Jim, our Director for Discipleship of Children and Families, share some ways we as a church (children included) can anticipate the birth of our Savior together.

Two weeks ago, at our Welcome Back Sunday event, we invited some of the children of City Church to watch a short animated film entitled, The Biggest Story: How the Snake Crusher Brings Us Back to the Garden.
