This Month’s Prayer Needs: September 2022
At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for the following…
EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: STAY-AT-HOME PARENTS
Please pray for parents whose daily work is in the home—that God would encourage them in the value and significance of their roles and provide for their daily need for strength, patience, and wisdom in interacting with their families. Pray that they find refreshment daily through the Word, prayer, and fellowship with believers. Pray that God uses them in their neighborhoods and communities to be a light to others.
LOCAL MISSIONS: CROSSOVER HEALTHCARE MINISTRY
Crossover Healthcare Ministry provides quality and compassionate healthcare to the uninsured in the greater Richmond Metropolitan area in the name of Jesus Christ. Please pray for Crossover’s staff and volunteers as they provide care for those who need it most in the midst of an ongoing pandemic that is hitting vulnerable populations especially hard. Pray for Crossover’s patients—that the care they receive ultimately points them to the One who cares for them most. Additionally, as Crossover is solely dependent upon the generosity of philanthropic-minded donors, please pray for continued generosity from their supporters. GLOBAL MISSIONS: THE DAVISES IN PRAGUE
Originally from Richmond, Phil and Shanna Davis have lived in Prague, Czech Republic since 2005 with their three kids: Lucy, Clark, and Piper. They planted Faith Community Church in 2007, and the church moved into a new facility and planted a sister church at the end of 2017. The Faith Community Church had the honor of welcoming and caring for refugees from Ukraine over the last several months. Phil and their son Clark were also able to travel to Ukraine in August to deliver donations of much-needed supplies. Please join them in thanking God for the opportunity to care for so many in need in this way—may these refugees and those still in harm’s way be delivered from danger and know God’s peace, protection, and provision. Please also pray for the health of the Faith Community Church family, as well as the Davises’ ongoing relationships with their non-believing friends. If you’d like to connect with the Davises, email Phil at phil@faithcommunity.cz.
MERCY & JUSTICE: UNITY
Echoing Jesus’s high priestly prayer where he asked that “they may become perfectly one” (John 17:23), please pray that the church across time and space would find unity through the Spirit. Pray that without diminishing our beautiful diversity and the varied gifts of God’s grace, we would find harmony in living together through our worship and work. Please pray that we would honor and value all who bear the image of God in this world.
