Meet Elder Candidate Jeremy Pryor
On Sunday, February 26th, we will hold a Congregational Meeting immediately after the worship service to vote to elect Jeremy as an elder and Kasey Hayes and George Davis as trustees. We will also vote to call Harrison Ford as Associate Pastor. All are welcome to attend, but please note that only communing members may cast votes.
From Jeremy:
“I came to Richmond to work as a lawyer 15 years ago. I’ve now been practicing law or over a decade at Carrell Blanton Ferris and Associates, PLC in the areas of elder law and trusts and estates. I am married to Brianne, and we have two children—Holland (3) and Lane (1)—with our third due in March. We live in Ginter Park.
I have been attending City Church since 2008 and have been a member since 2009. Over those years I have served on the facilities team, as a Children’s Worship leader, and as a nursery volunteer. I currently co-lead a men’s Bible study and am a member of the men’s ministry team. I also occasionally contribute to the City Church podcast.
I’ve been in church most of my life, but I have never belonged to any one church for as many years as I have now been at City Church. The community of believers here has been a lifeline to me through some of the darkest days of my life and God has used it—you—to hold on to me and bring me into deeper knowledge of himself. I believe that Jesus loves City Church dearly, and that he is calling me to love it by taking on the responsibilities of being an elder. While I am keenly aware of the qualities I lack to do this job well, I am more confident that Jesus can and will supply every need.”
