At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for these community members and partners this month.
EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: TEACHERS & SCHOOL STAFF
Pray for teachers and school staff as they look towards the start of a new school year that will likely look and feel very different. As some schools move towards virtual-only instruction while others reopen with new safety protocols in place, please pray for the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of all school employees. Pray that God bless these educators with extra measures of creativity, patience, and grace for their students and themselves.
LOCAL MISSION PARTNER: RUF AT VCU
RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) at VCU is a Christian campus ministry where students from all walks of life can process the truth claims of the Bible. RUF helps students to understand themselves and the world in light of the person and work of Jesus Christ. Peter Lyon, RUF at VCU’s campus minister, asks that we join in him praying for the VCU community as a whole as it deals with many unknowns that come with reopening during a pandemic. Please pray for boldness for the RUF community in sharing the gospel during a time that has revealed how desperately hope is needed. GLOBAL MISSION PARTNER: THE DAVISES IN PRAGUE
Originally from Richmond, Phil and Shanna Davis have lived in Prague, Czech Republic since 2005 with their three kids: Lucy, Clark, and Piper. They planted Faith Community Church in 2007, and moved into a new facility and planted a sister church at the end of 2017. Phil asks for prayer for the family’s upcoming vacation—rather than coming back to the U.S. as they usually do this time of year, they will be spending time in Croatia and hope for that time to be restful and offer chances to connect. Please pray for the Davis kids as they look towards (likely) returning to school in September; pray particularly for Lucy who is a senior in high school and beginning the process of navigating college choices. Please also pray for Faith Community as they continue to adjust to the new normal of what it looks like to both meet in-person and share their services via livestream.
