PREPARE & CONNECT
This Week’s Sermon: Our summer series on the Household of God continues this week with a sermon from Erik on 1 Timothy 5:1-16. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare for Sunday’s service.
No Children's Worship on Sunday: As this Sunday is the fifth Sunday of the month, there will be no Children's Worship. Parents, we encourage you to use this time to worship with your children and teach them about the service. Nursery care for ages 0 through 3 is still available.
City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics will take place on Friday, September 16th (7 to 9:30pm) and Saturday, September 17th (9:30am to noon) at Grace Covenant. City Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. If you’re interested in taking part in this next session, please RSVP to Val Catrow (val@citychurchrva.com). Contact Erik (erik@citychurchrva.com) with questions.
GATHER
Prayer Tomorrow: At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Join us tomorrow, July 28th, at 7am to pray. Meet in the Church office, 3rd floor at Grace Covenant. Enter in the back entrance of building. We hope to see you there. (City Church prayer takes place the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month).
Women’s Summer Suppers: Ladies, come out and join small groups of women around the city for dinner and conversation! The suppers will take place the evenings of August 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Each host will provide a main course; attendees are asked to bring a side or drinks to share. Email Tyler Joiner (e.tyler.gordon@gmail.com) with your preferred date to sign up. RSVPs are needed by the end of the day TODAY.
SERVE
Mercy Fund on Sunday: We will take up a special mercy fund offering at Sunday’s service, as we always do on the last Sunday of the month. Whatever is given will be kept separate from our general budget and will be used to aid those in our congregation, and in our community, who have emergency needs. Please prayerfully consider what you might give.
East End Pregnancy Test & Help Center -- Volunteer Training: EEPC, a City Church Ministry Partner, is looking for more volunteers! The next training session is on Saturday, August 6th from 11am to 4pm. Come to learn how you can get involved in equipping women to choose life for the children in their womb. Lunch provided. RSVP to eastendpregnancy@gmail.com.
