Caring for the Vaughans: For continued updates on how Rosalie Vaughan is doing with her treatment–and for ways we can all help care for her and her family–make sure to visit her CaringBridge site: www.caringbridge.org/visit/rosalievaughan. You will need to register with the site to see updates. Thank you for your continued prayer and support for the Vaughans!

We are offering a course for engaged couples entitled “Prepared to Love” which will meet Saturday, March 5th from 9am-12pm at GCPC. This will cover the first half of counseling offered by the pastors of City Church and for the second half of sessions, a pastor will meet with each couple separately. Registration is required. GATHER
Prayer Tomorrow: At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Join us tomorrow, February 25th, at 7am to pray. Meet in the Church office, 3rd floor at Grace Covenant. Enter in the back entrance of building. We hope to see you there. (City Church prayer takes place the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month).
Common Good RVA 2016 Conference: Common Good RVA’s 2016 Conference is scheduled for Saturday, February 27th from 8:30am to 12:30pm at Veritas School (3400 Brook Road). Common Good RVA is a post-partisan vision for Richmond’s flourishing that finds concrete expression in everyday decisions for the common good. This year’s conference will focus on helping us answer the question “What is my place?”–both in the world and as a member of God’s kingdom. David Kim, Executive Director of Redeemer’s Center for Faith and Work in New York City will serve as our keynote speaker. We’ll also hear from Richmonders as they share their experiences with discerning the connect between vocation and location. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased via commongoodrva.com. Don’t wait–tickets are going quickly!
Easter Event: On Saturday, March 26th, at 4pm, we’ll meet at Forest Hill Park to share a meal. The event will include kid-friendly activities and an Easter Egg Hunt. It’s a great opportunity for inviting friends and neighbors to learn more about why Christians celebrate Easter. ALL ARE WELCOME!
Good Friday Service: Join us on March 25th, at 7pm, at Grace Covenant for a Good Friday Service. The Good Friday service is a somber service of Lessons and Songs to help us mark the Passion of Jesus Christ our Lord. This service will be held in partnership with Grace Community Presbyterian Church and the Northside Church of Richmond.
SERVE
Welcome, Baby Palmore! Landon Downing Palmore was born at 11:40pm on Wednesday, February 17th. Landon weighed in at 6 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. We'll provide meals for Katie and Jeff over the next several weeks as they adjust to life at home with Landon. If you'd like to take the Palmores a meal, visit takethemameal.com--the login and password are Palmore.
Mercy Fund on Sunday: We will take up a special mercy fund offering at Sunday’s service, as we always do on the last Sunday of the month. Whatever is given will be kept separate from our general budget and will be used to aid those in our congregation, and in our community, who have emergency needs. Please prayerfully consider what you might give.
Good Friday Blood Drive: City Church will partner with Grace Covenant and other churches in Stuart Circle to host a blood drive on Good Friday (March 25th) from 9:30am to 3:30pm. The blood drive will take place in the Fellowship Hall of Grace Covenant. To sign up to donate, please visit redcrossblood.org and search for “goodfriday”. If you’re interested in volunteering at the blood drive (checking people in, assisting with snacks, etc.), contact Val Catrow at val@citychurchrva.com.
