This Month’s Prayer Needs: June 2022
At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for the following…
EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: MUSICIANS
Please pray for members of City Church who work and serve as musicians. Pray that they would: use their gifts of song and music to serve and glorify God; seek spiritual renewal in worshiping the Lord; allow God to cleanse their hearts and minds daily through his Word; and boldly proclaim the Lord and his truth through song, word, and deed.
LOCAL MISSIONS: RICHMOND CITY YOUNG LIFE
Richmond City Young Life is a thriving community of leaders and volunteers reaching, loving, and sharing the good news of Christ with students of Richmond Public schools, namely John Marshall High School and (recently) George Wythe High School. Richmond City Young Life’s goal is to introduce these kids and their families to a Savior who can provide for them, be their hope, and bind up their wounds. Please join them praying that their volunteer pipeline would come to fruition and that God provides the finances and right person to join their staff. Please also pray for finances and fundraising in general, especially for their trip to Young Life Camp this summer. If you’d like to learn more about RCYL and how you can get involved, please contact Tiont Williams, RCYL’s Director, at tiontw@gmail.com.
GLOBAL MISSIONS: JESSICA FORBES
Jessica Forbes is a long-time Ministry Partner of City Church who serves with Serge. Jessica is currently on home assignment on educational leave as she works toward a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a trauma certification to prepare her to continue her work in the field of anti-human trafficking. Please pray for Jessica and her time in the US—for her studies, for her fundraising efforts, and for her stamina as she gets additional training to do the work of caring for those experiencing trauma. MERCY & JUSTICE: REFUGEES
Please join us in praying for refugees in our city, state, nation, and across the world. Lift up those who are escaping persecution, exploitation, poverty, natural disasters, and war—that they find safety, comfort, and community. Pray for those working to serve these image-bearers in their time of vulnerability and need. Pray that Jesus would give us more of his compassion for their suffering and seek justice and mercy on their behalf, remembering his words in Matthew 25:35: “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me…”
