City Church Missions Weekend
November 11th-12th is Missions Weekend at City Church—a time when we will focus on what it means to be a church that goes out into the world to share the gospel and care for God’s people.
We’ve got a few things lined up for that weekend (and leading up to it!) that we want to get on your radar.
Monday, November 6th-Friday, November 10th: Ministry Partner Takeover Week
Next week, November 6th through 10th, Good Morning, City Church, our weekday podcast, will feature reflections from some of our Ministry Partners on Scripture relevant to their work in sharing the gospel. It’s our hope that hearing these voices will keep missions top-of-mind for you as we head into the weekend.
Saturday, November 11th
6:30PM | Dinner with Phil Davis at the Davises’ home (117 W. Norwood Avenue)
Georg and Julie Davis will host a small dinner for Phil Davis (no relation), a longtime City Church Ministry Partner serving with Serge in Prague. Contact George Davis (georgebdavis1013@gmail.com) to RSVP and for details. Please note seating is VERY limited for this event.
Sunday, November 12th
10AM | Church Planting Coffee at the Bonkovskys’ home (1705 Hanover Avenue)
An informal gathering to learn more about what church planting is and opportunities to be involved both in Richmond and across the world. Contact Erik (erik@citychurchrva.com) for more information.
4PM | City Church Worship Service
Phil Davis will preach during worship. James Murphy, one of our elders, will also give an update on church planting during the Living Our Faith portion of the service.
5:30-6:30PM | Missions Sunday Formation (Room 300)
All attendees will watch a short video from the recent mission trip to Germany. Adults will then hear more from Phil about his experience with Serge in Prague while the kids (4 and up) will participate in an interactive Zoom call with Clark Davis (Phil’s son) to learn about what it’s like to grow up as a missionary kid. Nursery care will be provided for kids 0-3; please register for nursery care for staff planning purposes. Dinner will be served.
If you have questions about Missions Weekend, please contact Erik at erik@citychurchrva.com or Carl Meyer at carlrmeyer@gmail.com.
