This Month's Prayer Needs: May

At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for these community members and partners this month.

EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS
Please pray for members of City Church who own and/or work for small businesses. Please pray that they would set and maintain high standards for their business values; seek the Lord’s wisdom in making difficult business decisions; desire to love and serve their colleagues and supervisors; and live holy lives that would reflect Christ to others.

LOCAL MISSION: RICHMOND CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE (RCLI)
RCLI is a community of community leaders dedicated to serving Richmond in Christ’s name. Each year since 2007, RCLI has invested in roughly 30 civic-minded Christian leaders as a part of its 10-month leadership program. Please pray for RCLI’s Board and for its Executive Director, Blaine Lay—pray that they would follow God’s lead as they pursue RCLI’s vision for equipping Christian Leaders to help Richmond thrive. Pray that God would draw people into RCLI’s work for the good of the Richmond area: class members, speakers, mentors, and financial supporters. Please also pray for RCLI’s leadership as they work on their strategic plan in the coming months. For more information on RCLI, contact Blaine Lay at blaine.lay@rcliweb.org.

GLOBAL MISSION: CITY TO CITY EUROPE
Started by Tim Keller and Redeemer Presbyterian almost 20 years ago, City to City seeks to create a movement of the gospel in the major cities of the world; City to City Europe does this work by partnering with gospel-centered churches to plant new churches in the major cities of Europe—and City Church is now one of those partners! In the last 10 years alone, City to City has helped planted 140 churches in 43 cities in Europe. Their new goal is to plant another 400 in the next five years. Please join them in praying for God’s guidance in this process and for the City Church Missions Team as we continue to explore what our new partnership with City to City Europe will look like.

MERCY & JUSTICE: CHILDREN
Knowing Jesus’s special concern for children, exemplified when he said, “Let the little children come to me” (Matthew 19:14), please pray for children throughout our community and the world. Pray for members of City Church who have been or are involved in foster care, adoption, and services to children in need. Specifically, pray for our Ministry Partner Virginia’s Kids Belong, a faith-based non-profit working to end the crisis for kids in foster care.
