This Month's Prayer Needs: February
At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for these community members and partners this month.
EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS
Please pray that members of City Church who work as administrative assistants would speak words of encouragement in their workplaces, seeking to be peacemakers; patiently serve others in such a way that Christ is displayed and glorified; and seek to wholeheartedly serve the Lord as they use their administrative talents to contribute to the mission and health of the organizations they support.
LOCAL MISSION PARTNER: RUF AT VCU
RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) at VCU is a Christian campus ministry where students from all walks of life can process the truth claims of the Bible. RUF helps students to understand themselves and the world in light of the person and work of Jesus Christ. Peter Lyon, RUF at VCU’s campus minister, shared these prayer requests: “Pray that our student-led small groups would flourish in a time of loneliness and frustration. With another semester of isolation upon us, the need for word-centered community that welcomes and cares for each other is particularly felt. Lift up those who lead the university, that they would make wise and healthy decisions, and that we as a ministry would do our part to support and be a blessing to the community we are a part of. Lament with us the joys lost and the pain felt as this hard season stretches ever onward. And rejoice with us as we know that even now while the campus looks near abandoned, God is doing work at VCU, and even this he will redeem and use for his good purposes.” For more on how you can support RUF at VCU, contact Peter at peter.lyon@ruf.org.
GLOBAL MISSION PARTNER: BEN & KIM CHURCH
Ben and Kim Church serve in Kampala, Uganda, where they are starting a new church, serving the poor, and teaching at a Bible College. As Ben and Kim continue to build relationships with people in their community and teach about Jesus, pray that a core group develops into a new church. In addition to the evangelistic Bible studies, Ben and Kim have been walking alongside some single mothers in their community by providing consistent friendship and support. Please pray for the Lord to bring about the knowledge of His loving presence to these women.
