PREPARE & CONNECT
This Week’s Sermon: Our summer series on 1 Timothy (The Household of God) continues this week with a sermon on 1 Timothy 3:1-13. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare for Sunday’s service.
Installation Service & Reception: During this Sunday's service we will install our newly elected elders and deacons. Please join us after the service on the patio (weather permitting) for a reception to celebrate our new church officers!
Bible Studies Bye-Week: Our summer Bible studies will take next week off due to the long holiday weekend. We'll start things back up again the week of July 11th.
Healing Prayer Time: We will hold a healing service on Sunday, July 10th from 8pm to 9pm in room 303 at Grace Covenant. We encourage anyone with chronic illnesses or conditions to join us to receive prayer and support. Contact Erik at erik@citychurchrva.com with questions.

Summer City Kids: Race to Rio! On Saturday, July 9th, City Church will host Summer City Kids: Race to Rio, a free, one-day, outreach-focused Vacation Bible School event for kids ages 4 (by the Fall of 2016) through 5th grade. Race to Rio will take place at Grace Covenant from 2pm to 5pm (kids can be dropped off) and will finish up with a dinner for all volunteers and participating families. July 17th Service at Fox Elementary: We will hold a special outdoor service/summer celebration on Sunday, July 17th on the playground at Fox Elementary in the Fan (2300 Hanover Avenue). The service will last from 4pm to 5pm, and dinner and all kinds of fun stuff (live music, kids' activities, etc.) will follow. City Church will provide the main course, so please bring a side or dessert to share. Please note: there will be no nursery or Children's Worship during this service. Bring chairs and blankets to sit on!
Race and the Church: The next installment of Race and the Church will take place on Saturday, July 17th at 9am at Veritas School (3400 Brook Road). This session’s topic is “Understanding the Heart Cry of #blacklivesmatter.” Serving as keynote speaker is Jemar Tisby (B.A. Notre Dame; MDIV RTS Jackson), the President and Co-Founder of the Reformed African American Network (RAAN). Items Needs for Richmond Justice Initiative Yard Sale/Bake Sale: Richmond Justice Initiate (RJI), one of City Church's ministry partners, is holding a yard sale on Saturday, July 23rd to raise awareness and funds for their organization. They are in need of donated household items and baked items to sell. Items can be dropped of on Wednesdays between 10am and 5pm at the U-Turn building at 2101 Maywill Street.
