PREPARE & CONNECT
This Week's Sermon: Our series on 1 Timothy and what it means to be a household of God continues this week with a sermon from Erik on 1 Timothy 2:1-7. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare for Sunday's service.
City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics will take place on Friday, June 17th (7-9:30pm) and Saturday, June 18th (9:30am to noon) at Grace Covenant–and there's still time to sign up! City Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. If you’re interested in taking part in this next session, please RSVP to Val Catrow (val@citychurchrva.com). Contact Erik (erik@citychurchrva.com) with questions.
Congregational Meeting on June 26th: We will hold a congregation meeting after our service on Sunday, June 26th (a week from this Sunday) to vote on our candidates for elder and deacon. Elder candidates are Andrew Bleckley and Hatch Reppard; Deacon candidates are Frank Allen, Brandon Lowe, and Doug BcBride. All communig members of City Church are eligible to vote. During this meeting, the finance team will also give a presentation on the 2016-2017 budget. Please see the attached letter that was email out to the congregation last month for more details.

Register here–and be sure to invite friends! Interested in volunteering? You can sign up over here.

Our women’s group will meet on Monday evenings (7:30 at Grace Covenant); our co-ed group will meet on Tuesday evenings (7pm at the Hadens' home); and our men’s group will meet on Wednesday evenings (7:30 at Grace Covenant). SERVE
Hosting International Students for Dinner: This summer VCU's Global Education Office (VCU GEO) will host 42 Chinese students for a 4-week English and cultural exchange program. In an effort to give these students a chance to spend time with American families and share cultures, VCU GEO is looking for volunteers to have one or two students over for dinner once during this 4-week session. If you're interested in opening up your home in this way, please contact Annie Gao at gaoy23@vcu.edu.
