PREPARE & CONNNECT

This Week's Sermon: Our series "Abounding Church" continues this week with a sermon from Erik on Hebrews 12:1-11. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare for Sunday's service.

City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics will take place on Friday, June 17th (7-9:30pm) and Saturday, June 18th (9:30am to noon) at Grace Covenant. City Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. Children's Ministry Thank You Reception: Everyone who has volunteered with children’s ministry (nursery, Children’s Worship, grades 3-5 class, and youth) within the last year is invited to come by the parlor (or the portico, if the weather is nice) after our service on Sunday, May 22nd to enjoy some refreshements as a thank you for all you do in serving City Church’s youngest members!

Nursery Workers Needed! We are in need of 26 additional nursery workers for our June-September volunteer rotation. Please consider serving City Church in this way! Contact Jennifer Murphy (jennifer@citychurcrva.com) if you’re interested.

Meals for the Warshaws: Wilson Oliver Warshaw was born on Monday, May 9th at 8:12pm. Wilson clocked in at 9 pounds, 2 ounces and 22 inches long. We’ll provide meals for Valerie, Dan, and big sister Maddie over the next several weeks as they adjust to life at home as a family of four. Help for the Woodfins: The Woodfin family is moving on Firday and we’d like to provide meals for them for a few weeks as they get settled into their new home on the Northside. Service Opportunities: The City Church deacons are in need of additional volunteers to join them as they support and care for members of our community. Potential opportunities to serve include proving rides to those with transportation dif culties (mid-week, especially); helping to collect household items for those in need; and serving on the Mercy Fund team, which manages the nancial support City Church provides to people in the community facing financial difficulties.
