PREPARE & CONNECT
This Sunday's Sermon: Our Advent series begins this Sunday with a sermon from Joshua on Luke 2:1-7. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare for this week's service.
No Children's Worship on Sunday: As this is the fifth Sunday of the month, we will NOT have Children's Worship. Parents, we encourage you to see this time as an opportunity to worship with your children and to teach them about the service. Nursery care is still available for ages 0 to 3.
No Adult Formation Class on Sunday: Due to the holiday weekend, our Adult Formation class on Discipleship will NOT meet on Sunday. Our last two sessions will meet on December 6th and 13th.
GATHER
Many Beautiful Things: This docu-drama detailing the life of Victorian artist and missionary Lilias Trotter will premeire in Virginia on Wednesday, December 2nd at 7:30pm at Regal Short Pump. Featuring Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary Crawley of Downton Abbey) as the voice of Lilias Trotter, and John Rhys-Davies (Gimli of Lord of the Rings) as the voice of her mentor and world renowned art critic John Ruskin, the film explores Trotter's life, art, and why her legacy was nearly lost to history. Told she could be "England's greatest living painter," Trotter's story is one that pushes the limits of beauty, sacrifice, and the question of calling in one's life. The trailer can be viewed here.
