Adult Formation: Discipleship
Our next Adult Formation class is entitled “Discipleship: Helping one another follow Jesus.” A disciple is a student who follows and learns from another. The last command that Jesus gave to his followers was the command to go and make disciples. This six-week course will train you how to help others follow Jesus through an intentional one on one relationship.

Descriptions
11/1 -- What is it and Why do it? The intentional encouragement of Christians on the basis of deliberate, loving relationships and training in God’s Word.
11/8 -- Bible Study Reading, studying, and applying scripture together. Introduces inductive Bible study methods and how to read a book with another person.
11/15 -- Prayer + Holiness Spending time together before God and encouraging personal prayer. Growing in personal holiness is a primary goal of our encouragement in discipling relationships. By faith in Jesus we become new creations, the old passes away and we live for him in obedience.
11/22 -- Evangelism Helping one another to take the initiative, knowing how to communicate our faith, and answering basic questions which commonly arise.
12/6 -- Encouraging the Hurting Each Christian will experience pain and heartache: sin, physical suffering, conflict will injure our friends and loved ones. How to mourn with hope and bring good news to the hurting.
12/13 -- Biblical Accountability One of the greatest lies of the evil one is to think that as Christians we can go at it alone - fight sin by our own agenda and by our own strength. Confession, forgiveness, and active listening bring truth and light to areas of unbelief.
